Great crowd scenes. Some historical inaccuracies but the invention of the astrolabe can be depicted for dramatic purposes only once 'cause this is a movie not a series!! The raw Roman lack of glory is very real looking. The photography and art direction in this is amazing. It's like you were actually there!! There is apparently some modern Christians who criticize this movie for its bias. The swarthy Jewish looking Christian monks must be confronting for whitebread American Jesus freaks. Good thing too!. Xtians are shitstirrers. They always have been and it's high time they were confronted with their hypocrisy. This movie is set at a time when the Christians are in political ascendancy through the medium of mob rule. There is no civil order, no justice, no separation between Church and state. This is as fair to Christians as it is to the to library of Alexandria and is in fact a fine cinematic depiction of a major turning point in the history of civilisation. ABM Rating 2.5/3
