Interesting… avoids some potentially weepy midday movie shit. This movie is a very good tribute to the notion that this woman is very weird and original and should be better known... Her more famous hubby is a cynical exploitative bastaad (which is probably some kind of cliche). The nicest bits are the scenes that fade from various famous paintings into a tableaux of Frida's life. That's serious hero worship and it rocks. Many scenes from this movie remain in the memory, days afterward. RATING 2/3 ABM
