This is silly and fun and the pace is fast. The visual gags that you have to stop the DVD to get are legion. The plot's good.
ReplyDeleteBut it smells of failure for some reason. Are the gags too in-jokey? Is the 1837 setting wrong? Queen Victoria was really 18yo in 1837 and only just crowned.
The business was alright ($123 worldwide box office with a $50m budget).
I think it's probably a marketing failure. The 2 different names for US& rest of the world Vs UK was merely the most obvious marketing failure.
