A deeply involving highly original romantic fantasy.
ReplyDeleteThe chickens, ducks and swans are like a Greek chorus. The performances are highly stylised and engaging. The language is simple and quite easily understood.
The costumes veer wildly from magnificent and lavish to comical and simply twee.
The photography is unbelievably amazing for 1946.
An amazing classic movie.
It is no wonder this movie has been remade half a dozen times.
