An American Werewolf in London is a 1981 British-American horror comedy film written and directed by John Landis and starring David Naughton, Jenny Agutter, and Griffin Dunne. The film tells the story of two American students, David and Jack, who are attacked by a werewolf while on a backpacking holiday in England.

  1. At the time this was a breakthrough in transformational makeup design and visual effects. It has since been eclipsed by even the cheapest films using CGI graphics.
    The plot is cute and predictable. Jenny Agutter is a very attractive co-lead but her role is not written very well. The rest of the cast is ok. The direction is old fashioned. The photography and visual effects look a bit sloppy but I feel sure that this is due to comparison with modern standards.
    Comedy horror with a pinch of credibility. This is a reasonable but dated movie experience.
