A darkly psychological study of three psychopaths (who happen to be historical figures). This story is fascinating and based on something almost real. (It's hard to tell since the best bits are censored and the other accounts are by the wronged party (particularly Sarah Marlborough).
ReplyDeleteBut this is fiction not reality. What is presented is a character portrait, intense and detailed. The three female leads are Bechdel test breaking and owning the movie.
Emma, Rachel and Olivia are all very good. Rachel could easily have been co-nominated for an acting award.
Abigail: Do you mind if I ask you a personal question?
Sarah: Do bear in mind that I'm holding a gun.
The incidental music is also very good. I like a bit of modern music. None of yer bloody clavichords in this movie, thankyou. Composer is Komeil S. Hosseini according to IMDB. Don't know him.
This is modern movie making of the highest calibre.
